The 997 GT3 RS 4.0 represents the final and most significant chapter in Porsche’s RS history — a car created not only to deliver an extraordinary driving experience, but to mark the end of an era. At its heart lies the last evolution of the legendary Mezger engine, making this model the ultimate expression of a lineage in motorsport.
More than its performance alone, the 4.0 carries a unique sense of occasion and finality. Every element defines what an RS should be. Limited to just 600 units worldwide, it was conceived from the outset as a true collector’s piece — a definitive farewell to the Mezger era. Its rarity, combined with its position as the last of its kind, gives it a significance that goes far beyond the driving experience, standing today as one of the most desirable modern Porsche models to preserve and appreciate over time.
This particular example is presented in Carrara White over Bi-tone Black/Red leather and Alcantara. The factory configuration is especially attractive, featuring white roll cage, M003 Clubsport package with Carrera GT Bucket Seats, 90L fuel tank, Silver wheels, Sport Chrono and several Porsche Exclusive optionals: painted mirror triangles in body color, extended carbon fiber interior kit and headlight washer covers painted in contrast color.
This 4.0 RS is a world reference example. With just 3.090km from new, it is first paint entirely -including bumpers-, has no over-revs in any of the ranges, it preserves its original matching numbers engine and gearbox, and it is unmodified.
Delivered new in March 2012 for the French market, it has lived most of its life in Germany and has had a total of 2 owners. The last maintenance was performed by the end of 2025, with its stamps in the original service book. The original leather pouch with all owner’s manuals is present.
As one of only 600 units produced worldwide and the final Mezger-engined GT3 RS, the 997 RS 4.0 occupies a unique position within the modern collector car market. Its combination of rarity, historical significance and increasing demand places it firmly on the radar of collectors, where originality, low mileage and provenance — as seen in this example — are key factors for long-term value preservation and growth.
